If the paint was water soluble and you could remove it completely, then there will be no problem. If there is paint on the inside, over time, paint chips will break off and be swallowed, Once the solvent is gone, however, the pigments in the chips shouldn't be an issue but I would scrape off any paint on the inside anyway. Of course, if it's lead-based paint then forget it.
