Hematospermia: Hematospermia (bloody semen) is almost always caused by a benign condition in younger men & in many cases no clear cause is identified. In older men w/ hematospermia, genitourinary cancer such as prostate cancer is considered in the evaluation process. Even in older males with hematospermia, etiology is rarely found to be neoplastic in nature. Urology consultation is a safe option for older males.
