How you tell you have herpes?

You go in for an evaluation/testing when you develop sores involving your genitals.

There are two major types of herpes, oral, usually HSV 1 and genital, usually, HSV 2. Both produce sores that can be tested for the virus. Blood can be tested for antibodies to check of prior infection. Once a person is infected, the virus remains in the body forever.
