This needs to be discussed with your doctor and you need to have your mouth and throat examined, as well as a full examination of the rest of your body. Elevated platelets do not cause bleeding; the opposite can be true. If your platelets are very low, one is more likely to have bleeding. Your doctor can review your history, exam, and lab values to give to an accurate answer.
