I have known OBs that said 3 was the max but attended a woman's 5th in a Catholic hospital during my training. I would seek the advice of your OB who knows the type of surgery performed and any other factors specific to your case. I don't like blanket statements when individual cases vary. For some, one may be only given all the possible factors.
