A member asked:

When laying in bed i noticed that when staring up at the ceiling of my room, my vision would go black before coming back to normal. it continues to do this in a pattern, like waves coming onto a beach, and only when there's no light. what is this?

It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. If your vision is stable in lit areas, you may watch and wait and talk to your doctor at the next encounter. Get HPV vaccine. Wish you good health! If you are in darkness looking at the ceiling, you eyes may be undergoing the process of dark adaptation which takes 5-10 minutes. You might also see spontaneous visual phenomena in the dark which could originate from the eyes and from the visual cortex of the brain. An eye examination by an ophthalmologist would rule out any unusual condition which might cause this.
