It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It may be due to dry skin and using an emollient is worth a try. It could also be a symptom of vitamin deficiency and you could try multivitamin supplement. If that does not help it would be prudent to see a doctor. Wish you good health!
