A member asked:

I took allegra 24 hr 2 hours ago but my allergy symptoms havent really improved, is it safe to take a benadryl also?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes, these work in different ways. It takes up to half a hay or more to see the peak effect of Allegra, which is a benefit when taking long term during your allergy seasons. Benadryl peaks at 2 hours and is out of your body in 4-6 hours. The 2 don't counteract or interfere with each other. Benadryl can be sedating.
