It only takes one sperm (in semen, all the time) to trigger pregnancy and it has been documented from exposure at any day of a cycle including during menses. While it seems more likely #2, this becomes a legal issue and you could get a big surprise at birth. You can have a NIPS test at 8-10 weeks and compare the findings to known men to find the answer.
