Irregular spotting is common with the Depo 3mo birth control injection. Vomiting is not a common side effect. Consider discussing an alternative medication with your prescribing physician.

Since no birth control method is "100%" certain, and nausea is not associated with depo-progesterone shots ("3-month shots"), obtain a serum HCG test to be certain about pregnancy. If negative see your physician for continued symptoms of nausea.
