Ive been getting specks of brown dried old blood in post nasal sputum for last few months. had previously done a few of sanding and spray painting diy jobs at home. is this related? will it clear on own or need treated?no other signs of infection?

You may be right that the sanding and spray painting may be injurious to your nasal mucous membrane so wear protective mask in the future when working with heavy dusts and fumes. It should resolve by itself given time. You may want to humidify your environment adequately because drying may also do that to airway mucosa.
