Is it normal to feel mild cramps on and off a week after a period?

Is this a new problem? Do you have these cramps routinely each month? Are there any other symptoms associated with cramps such as vaginal discharge or any urinary burning or increased frequency? I would want to rule out other causes of cramping before suggesting that they could be related to your periods in any way.
