Pregnancy tests detect the presence of B-Hcg, which is produced in increasing amounts throughout pregnancy. It does not go away instantly, and should decrease at a steady rate after termination of pregnancy. It is standard practice to regularly test the quantity of B-Hcg in your blood to ensure it steadily decreases down to zero. Until that happens, urine pregnancy tests will be positive.

Depending on how long one has been pregnant, misoprostol use may not cause a "medical" abortion. If your pregnancy test is still positive, see your GYN physician who may suggest a "D&C" (minor surgical procedure) to insure all products of conception are removed if an ultrasound has confirmed an intrauterine pregnancy.
