Confusing question: Do you mean finding out if a male has trichomonas? Or how to inform someone by mail? In men, trichomonas is diagnosed by a urine specimen tested for trichomonas DNA (using a technology called PCR). However, mostly it isn't diagnosed at all in males: if a female has trichomonas, her male sex partner(s) should be treated to prevent her from being reinfected.

Males can be carriers and have no symptoms. Sometimes the infection is transient. Symptoms are similar to other infections (gonorrhea, chlamydia), such as pus discharge, painful urination, and itchiness. I agree with the urinary test as being the diagnosis. Treatment can be with metronidazole, and less commonly with tinidazole. Sexual abstinence is 7 days after all partners are treated
