Dry cough is often associated with bronchospasm. Discuss pulmonary function testing and a bronchodilator with your PCP. Avoid over use of medications, since they have side effects and are not often effective. Chronic dry cough should be also evaluated with allergy testing, keep sleep environment clean and dust free. Watch for chest pain, wheezing and shortness of breath.
