Yes and it can cause a chronic cough.both while asleep and during the day. GERD can also do this. A CPAP machine can clear up sleep apnea caused coughing.

A bit complex, as nocturnal and morning coughing could be associated with GERD, sinusitis, and medications used for hypertension, besides sleep apnea. The latter would need confirmation via a nocturnal supervised sleep study.
