If your periods are "11 or 12" days after a regular five day "period", it is not "normal". This kind of bleeding can be associated with other issues, so see your GYN physician for further testing (Ultrasound, hormonal assays, etc.), and ask about oral bcp's to stop ovarian hormone production.
