Pruritis ani: For the most part, gp/fp/im/peds/gyn doctors can diagnose & treat pruritis ani. There are times the help of their dermatology or colorectal colleagues is needed. Conditions such as psoriasis, contact dermatitis, paget's disease, malignancies (eg, squamous cell cancer), etc. May sometime not be diagnosed until a biopsy is performed or specialist consulted. Psychological factors are considered.
