A member asked:

Do boys grow muscle during puberty even without working out? if yes when does it starts and stops?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Muscle mass increases in males with the normal activity of daily living as a reflection of the testosterone levels, These begin to surge in the teen years but continue to rise in the 20's with an expected taper starting around 30. Testosterone increases muscle cell response to any activity, with or without working out. As levels decline, muscle mass can also diminish.
