Hey, so i have been on depo for about 5 years and recently have switched to nexplone. i gained a lot of weight being on it. i was wondering if nexplone will help me lose weight because i can not find the information for that anywhere?

Depo-Provera and Nexplanon are both progesterone Only contraception. I warn my patients about Depo-Provera potentially causing weight gain (7-38% of patients), which is usually a side effect of concern. Some of my patients do complain of some weight gain with nexplanon (14% of patients), which Is a reason they come see me to ask me to remove it.
