How accurate is a negative pregnancy test 23 days after unprotected sex?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

If you did the test correctly, it would be accurate. To be sure repeat the test in 4-5 days, unless you get a period by then. Use first morning urine and follow the instructions for the test carefully. Alternatively you could get a blood test for HCG level. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time, every time. You may consider implanted contraceptive, or IUD.
