Should i go to the hospital for severe weight loss, if i'm afraid i'm malnourished?

Unintended weight loss warrants an investigation. Contact your primary care provider, at your earliest, for an assessment and to ascertain if you need to go to the hospital. You may be malnourished but that can be corrected without being admitted to hospital, depending on the cause and your mental status. Wish you good health!

There's no need for hospitalization at this time. For a comprehensive outpatient assessment of your weight loss, consult a specialist in internal medicine who will take a thorough history& system review, perform a complete physical examination & order appropriate testing in order to make a differential diagnosis. You may be referred to other specialists depending upon results of the assessment.
