A member asked:

Is it possible to ovulate after an induced period with provera?

Yes. An ovulation can certainly occur subsequent to a Provera withdrawal menses, though it is not likely that it had any role in starting the process. Additional medications are usually required.

It is "possible", but the reason for giving Provera is b/c of lack of ovulation, and Provera will not convert your cycle to one with ovulation, but create a shedding of endometrial lining leading to what is a false "period". See a reproductive endocrinologist for regulation of ovulation, which requires another medication to ensure.
