Is it better to take pepcid 40 mg for acid reflux one time in 24 hours or two times a day 20 mg every 12 hours ?

The listed half life ( time for 1/2 to be gone) for this med is about 4 hours. Taking 20 mg every 12 hours would provide a higher blood level of the drug during the time you use it. Whether or not you need it for symptom control is something only you can decide.
