Dr Singh covers many potential consequences of not directly treating sleep apnea, and important to note that some medications can make this even worse, such as narcotic use resulting in death during the night. Treatment can be varied, such as dental splints, and newer ENT devices. Main caveat, do NOT ignore the problem, and get proactive.

Your oxygen levels should be 96% or higher during sleep. A constant desaturation of 83% is very dangerous because your brain, heart, lungs & vital systems are not getting enough oxygen to function. If you are intolerant of CPAP talk to your Dr. to see if you are a candidate for Oral Appliance Therapy an intra-oral dental device that brings your jaw forward to open up your airway made by a dentist.
