Some normal women occasionally skip a cycle. When it is missed because of pregnancy the process is usually making the chemicals that turn a pregnancy test positive when done correctly. A first morning urine is more concentrated and more accurate. Tests are more often falsely negative than falsely positive. All things considered you can always test again later.

Menstrual irregularities are not uncommon and anovulatory cycle is a common cause. If you miss more than two periods it would be time to see your doctor. Consult this site. http://www.nichd.nih.gov/health/topics/menstruation/conditioninfo/Pages/causes.aspx
