A member asked:

What are the side affects of plan b? how long does/can it affect your cycle? can it lead to heavy or light flows?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

"Plan B" is essentially a birth control pill which has estrogen/progestin composition, and may produce light bleeding 3-4 days after use. Heavy bleeding after taking Plan B could come from an early miscarriage, or even an ectopic pregnancy, so such should be evaluated by your physician, or a test like serum HCG which detects even low levels of pregnancy hormone.
