Prophylactic antiviral medications (Valtrex) is advisable with a past medical history of Herpes I/II. Taking "one gram, once a day" will not be harmful to your pregnancy. Reduction of the potential for activation of a Herpes outbreak is a beneficial practice in pregnancy.
