Probably normal: Most women will have a tendency to have lighter periods over time. You do not mention your age, but it is not unusual.

Congratulations: You're one of the lucky ones. Be it from birth control or because of gradually decreasing ovarian hormone production - it's not harmful and beats all the other posts for heavy, irregular, and painful cycles. I have patients who would envy you.
