With such a relatively low dose of sertraline, serious interactions (such as excess sedation) are unlikely. However, it is certainly possible that 1-2 drinks (you don't say the size of the drinks) per day could worsen depression or anxiety symptoms, thus defeating the efficacy of the sertraline.

Agree with Dr Steele. Important to appreciate the fact that alcohol can act like Valium, being both sedative and calming, but like benzodiazepines, can promote depression and increase anxiety once effect has worn off.
