The rule of thumb is that any oral lesion that has not totally and completely resolved in 2 weeks should be evaluated. So if the 2 week mark, from inception of the lesion, comes up on your calendar, see your Dentist immediately.

Hot spicy food will trigger an episode of a canker sore ,yours got larger because of more irritation .Go to the pharmacy and get OTC gel or liquid medication. Also anxiety and irritation of the area can cause this response.
