A member asked:

Is it normal to still be bleeding bright red 2 and a half weeks postpartum vaginal birth?

Postpartum bleeding can go on for weeks but it shouldn't remain a bright red color much after a week or and the bleeding shouldn't be heavy or foul smelling. Apparently yours isn't. I'd like you to call your obstetrician for advice and any instructions.

Light bleeding is normal 2 1/2 weeks postpartum, while heavy bright-red bleeding is not. I presume that you did nothing to promote bleeding. If this bleeding is heavy, see the delivering obstetrician for evaluation.
