A member asked:

Is it true that some lipsticks contain lead which can cause skin cancer?

Tiny amounts: The internet hoax and "gold ring" tests have passed into being urban legends. One of the difficult jobs faced by the epa and the fda is establishing arbitrary "safe levels" for substances that pose minimal threats at low levels, and there was a minor flap about some lipsticks having slightly more lead than some current "allowables." your own body naturally contains lead. Stop worrying.
