Yes : Mirtazapine (remeron) is an anti-depressant. All medicines have side effects which may or may not be desired. Remeron (mirtazapine) can cause weight gain and somnolence. Some individuals with depression lose weight and have insomnia. Remeron (mirtazapine) may a good choice in treatment of depression in this instance. Adequate exercise & proper diet can help avert weight gain from Remeron (mirtazapine) & help manage depression better.
