At a documented "36 weeks" of pregnancy, with a first pregnancy and "3 cm dilation", labor may start at any point, but delivery should not be precipitous (rapid enough for your inability to reach a hospital setting). Sex should be avoided b/c of the possibility of infection with an open cervix ("3 cm dilation). Your OB physician may elect to induce labor in another week or so.
