Why is my back pain when i laugh or lying down too long?

In some instances of chronic back pain lying down precipitates or worsens it because when you're standing your spine is somewhat splinted but when totally relaxed you lose that splinting or supporting effect. I assume the same effects occur when laughing. The question is do you have a chronic back issue and, if so, what's the problem?
