Is it a good idea to use mupirocin to prevent infections and promote healing on a surgical site with sutures?

Not really. Mupirocin is a topical antibiotic (directed mostly against Staph). Has nothing to do with “promoting wound healing”. Some surgeons believe it lowers the risk of post-operative infection, other surgeons believe it makes no difference. I don’t know (and no one else really does either. Mostly based on “belief”)
