A member asked:

I had a transvaginal mesh sling put in about 10 years ago for stress incont., and it worked well. however, it hasn't been effective in preventing leakage for the past few years. is this because it is only a temporary solution that has to be repeated?

Transvaginal mesh can lose effectiveness for treatment of stress urinary incontinence, and in some cases, may not still support the bladder/urethral junction, and/or increased weight may cause increased suprapubic pressure, and leakage will occur. See a urologist or pelvic reconstruction gyn to assess the need for surgical revision .
