You should be seen by an ear nose and throat doctor to determine the size of the polyps and the best treatment. Sometimes, medicine such as a steroid nasal spray can help shrink them, depending on size and location. Treatment would also depend on your symptoms and whether it is associated with asthma. Agree with Dr. Ferranti. Even if the polyps need to be removed surgically, the procedure would not be painful, as you would receive appropriate anesthesia.
