In my last visit to my dr. my blood pressure was 130/85, i'm very overweight (247 lbs) i decided to start losing weight using the dash diet, limiting my salt intake to 1500mg daily. my question is, can i use a little garlic salt for meats 1/4 spoon?

When the word SALT is used the compound is high in sodium. Garlic powder has very little sodium. Use it instead of garlic salt. Sodium does impact blood pressure. Your blood pressure goal should be 130/80 or lower. Your lifestyle changes are very appropriate. Limiting stress,reducing caffeine&alcohol, regular exercise (walking) are helpful also.
