What would cause excessive itching at night? i moisturize daily. and the itching gets so severe i cant sleep. benadryl doesnt seem to touch it?

Transient itching following contact with an irritating material or allergen is common and no big deal. Often due to perfume in moisturizing lotion or body soap. Should resolve with stopping perfumed soaps, lotions or moisturizers. Spontaneous and severe total body itching without obvious cause POTENTIALLY much more serious. Kidney or liver failure possible (but both are quite uncommon)
