Ever since i healed from an ear infection a few years ago, my sinuses have experienced chronic inflamation on one side or the other, and i produce thick mucus that gathers at the back of my throat. is this something i can treat?

You could have chronic sinusitis, which can be due to infection, allergy, or a combination of the two. See an otolaryngologist (ENT specialist). Depending on what s/he finds, perhaps also referral to an allergist. Good luck.
