Talk to your doctor: You would have to talk to your doctor for a cream or pill to take for the outbreak. Once you have the virus, you always have it, you just didn't appear to have an outbreak for quite some time. There are no creams or anything over-the-counter, only by prescription. Also, you should not have intercourse while you are having a breakout.
