A member asked:

I haven't had a period in two years since i had my tubes tied is this normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sometimes it is normal, especially in patients that were peri menopausal. Additionally, tubal ligation's can interrupt the blood vessels between the ovaries and uterus which can trigger period absence. It would be a good idea to see a GYN MD and have a FSH blood test run after a negative pregnancy test to see if this really is tubal ligation induced menopause for peace of mind.
