A member asked:

Is the clitoris left in tact following opeation of vaginal obliteration to treat procedentia?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Vaginal obliteration is a closure of the vagina to create a physical obstacle against herniation of the uterus or intestines through the vaginal canal after potential childbirth injuries enlarging the passage of internal organs (i.e. "procedentia"). Usually the clitoris is not affected by such operative closure.
