A member asked:

Is it normal that one part of my labia minora is black/brown and sticks out from my labia majora? (it has always been this way)?

First of all, as a virtual MD in this context, I am unable to see this area to give you an accurate answer. However, in general, the labia majora will be pigmented depending upon the ethnicity or race of the person. The labia minora usually are "pink" on the inside and slightly pigmented to the side that faces the labia majora.

There is a huge variation in the sizes and shapes of the labia minora. It is rare to be perfectly symmetrical, so usually one side is larger than the other. Also, the larger labia minora gets, the more pigmented (darker) it gets on the outer edge. So what you are describing sounds normal.
