That should be safe, yes, BUT very few people would ever need such a high daily dose of Vitamin D- 1000 to 5000 units daily is what most people take (or 50,000 units once a week for 3 months to get things started when level is very low),not 10,000 units daily. It that dose what your Dr recommended?

Agree with Dr Bickel, as the amount is far beyond the usual dose. Easiest way to assess needs is to obtain OH-Vitamin D-3 serum level. An appropriate range should not exceed 50-70 ng/ml.
