A urologist prescribed me betamethasone for balanitis. i have since learned that it can cause thinning and really mess up your glans. i used for 5 days and again 3 weeks later for 3 days when it wasn't quite healed. my glans is weak now. permanent?

It takes several weeks for corticosteroids to cause skin thinning. It also depends on how strong the cream is, i.e.lower versus higher amounts of betamethosone in the cream. Your urologist probably knows this and woul not have prescribed a cream likely to cause tissue thinning. Disucss with him or her -- or maybe get a dermatology opinion: dermatologists are the experts in steroid skin creams.
