Probiotics are just collections of germ colonies known to be innocent of any evil action in the gut. By taking them you increase your chances of replacing bad germs that hurt you with these good germs. Daily intake is fine, You do poop some germs out every day and you consume some "bad" germs by touching your face/mouth with contaminated fingers.
