My left ankle and foot suddenly swelled up for no apparent reason. it isn't hot or anything and doesn't hurt it just feels itchy so like pins and needles. can i wait to see doctor on tuesday at my prenatal appointment?

I think you should see a doctor prior to next Tuesday. One etiology would be a blood clot and you don’t want to miss that diagnosis. Perhaps you can call your doctor to see if you can be seen sooner or perhaps you can see your GP. You can also go to the ER for diagnosis and treatment. Best of luck to you!

I agree with Dr.F's advice. A.possible cause of your foot&ankle swelling with associated itching is angioedema otherwise known as giant hives. Ordinary hives may also be seen. Angioedema is an allergic response but the cause is often elusive. It often resolves on its own. Unless it affects the airways it's not dangerous.
